Sometimes we are not able to receive our mail item or package due to any possible reason. USPS Tracking understand its customers and that’s why there is a service called “USPS Redelivery” through the users can easily schedule a redelivery request.

Redelivery process is delivering a mail item, package, which are not delivered in the first attempt. If letter carrier has tried to deliver the mail but couldn’t deliver it due to the following reasons:
- The mailbox size is very small for using mail item i.e. the mail item does not fit for a proper mailbox.
- A signature of the authorized person is required to deliver a mail item.
A Process To Schedule USPS Re-delivery
Following options are used as a USPS Re-delivery process
The online method is the easiest and convenient to schedule a redelivery. There you have two options i.e. Redelivery Tool and USPS Tracking
A re-delivery tool is used for redelivery form where you want to enter all the required information. Fill all the information at usps tracking with correct information to schedule a redelivery. once submitting the request it will cross the entered information.
USPS Tracking Tool
Track the Confirm Action input and then enter the tracking number to see whether your mail item is eligible for redelivery or not. If your USPS tracking mail item is eligible for the delivery option on the right side of the screen under “Available Actions”.
You want to use any two options online, then you will get a confirmation page with a confirmation number when acceptance of your request. For the purpose of future reference, you can save the confirmation number. You will get a confirmation number to revise your request using usps tracking.
If a mail does not require any signature like unaccountable mail then simply fill out the back of PS Form 3849 as follows.
Using By Phone
You can also schedule a redelivery by phone as well. The customer will ask for a tracking number, provide USPS tracking and then further proceedings will take place. If you don’t have a tracking number, in this case, customer support can only send a notification to the post office to redeliver the item. Similarly, visit your local post office with a valid ID to pick up your mail item.
How To Schedule A Re-delivery On USPS Tracking:
- On the USPS website point on Track and manage
- Click on Schedule a redelivery
- Enter the name, Email, street address city, along with Zipcode
- If you not sure about the Zipcode lookup here.
- Enter the Article number to identify the Mail and select Mail class
- Select the date of that you missed
- Select the Expected Date for Redelivery and Submit
